Confucius, Shanghai, China, 2013
Printed on 11 x 14 archival matte fine art paper.
Edition of 10.
When I visited Shanghai in 2013, I made a point of spending time in many different kinds of temples. When I returned, I began to read Confucius. I was immediately struck by how much of his wisdom is not only relevant today, but also resonated with my own journey to China -- and my life's journey in general. In this photo, taken at a Confucian temple, I have written some of the things Confucius said that mean the most to me -- but also, I believe, offer great wisdom for us all.
